MARCH COMEDY MADNESS 2018: 64+ Comedians, 1 Champion.
Tipping our hat to the NCAA Basketball Tournament, comedians benefit the Brain & Behavior Research Foundation by going one-on-one in the 12th annual March Comedy Madness; a single elimination comedy competition refereed by show's originator Josh Filipowski. In the first LIVE round, two comedians perform their best minute of stand-up head-to-head and then the audience, by applause, decides the winner. As the field is narrowed down, the sets get longer and more hilarious, until the March Comedy Madness Champion is crowned!

Friday, March 9 Laugh BOSTON Finalist Kyle McNally!
Sunday, March 11 Empire PORTLAND Finalist Colby Bradshaw!
Sunday, March 25 Broadway Comedy Club NEW YORK Finalist Pedro Gonzalez!
Friday, March 30 Tracadero Balcony PHILADELPHIA Finalist Tamer Kattan!

-Who is selected? From submissions, a selection committee of producers & industry select 16 comedians for each bracket (Boston, Portland, New York, Philadelphia). LIVE fields of 16 go head-to-head til 4 finalists remain. The FINAL FOUR are all invited to the FINAL FOUR and CHAMPIONSHIP bracket battle til ONE champion is crowned.
-Where are the brackets? Coming soon.
-What are the Prizes? Past Prizes include: -CA$H -Submission to SiriusXM Comedy radio -Rasta Bus 4 Hour Charter -That Headshot Guy headshots -Cari Bagdonas headshot package -Mark Manne Photo package -Nathaniel Wood photo session -Greg Dean's Stand-Up Workshop -New British School Acting Class -Empire City Casino at Yonkers Raceway paid gig -Feature at La Jolla Comedy Store -Spots at top comedy clubs, shows -and more!

-Is there a bringer requirement? Not at all, but it's an amazing event- we hope you'll help promote it.
-So wait... the comedian who brings the most friends or gets the most friends to vote wins? Nope. In the live shows, if someone has 10 friends in an audience of 100, 90% of the audience is still up for grabs. Be funny. Promote the shows. And may the funniest advance.
-Do comedians need to pay? The submission fee is $12. It's like betting on yourself and in comedy that's ok!
-Who's in? TBA, Email interest/ideas/suggestions to madness@like2laugh dot com

-Who benefits? Proceeds go to the Brain & Behavior Research Foundation which gives scientists grants to fund their research to help the 64 million Americans living with mental illness, and the lives of those around them. So everybody benefits really! Check them out: www.bbrfoundation.org (AND if that's not enough: comedians sharpen their sets and the audience laughs their troubles away!)
-This sounds like madness- does it work? Indeed - It's our 12th year- and it's MADNESS!
